Sustainable Ireland · Episode 01
The making of the first film in the Sustainable Ireland documentary series — from one introductory email to a story told across Ireland, from Dublin to Shannon Airport.
The partnership
Every great partnership begins with a shared vision.
EC Charging was the very first organisation to put its hand up for Sustainable Ireland. One introductory email about the project was all it took — the team immediately recognised the opportunity to share their story, and wanted to explore the concept further.
What followed was months of collaboration between two teams, and a film about a company helping shape Ireland's transition to a more sustainable future.
Behind the film
Chapter 01
After receiving an introductory email about the project, the EC Charging team saw the opportunity straight away. They were the first to come on board — keen, curious, and ready to tell their story.

Chapter 02
With EC Charging based in Dublin, a face-to-face meeting was easy to arrange. Within a couple of weeks, Puffin House was in their offices, presenting the vision behind Sustainable Ireland and discussing how their work is shaping Ireland's move to cleaner transport. The enthusiasm was evident from that very first meeting.

Chapter 03
Puffin House developed the first draft of the documentary script, then refined it shoulder-to-shoulder with the team at their manufacturing facility in South Dublin — sharpening the key messages and mapping out production with the directors and the wider team, so the story stayed authentic to their mission.

Chapter 04
Cameras rolled in the first week of February and kept rolling across several weeks — five to seven full shooting days, deliberately spread out to capture EC Charging's work in all its variety. Most of it was filmed across Dublin, but production travelled as far as Shannon Airport to show the true scale and reach of their infrastructure.

Chapter 05
By the end of March, filming was complete — and just a few weeks later, Puffin House presented the first draft of the documentary. Open communication at every stage shaped a film that genuinely represents the business, its people, and its ambitions.

The documentary
The finished documentary — EC Charging's story, as told in the Sustainable Ireland series.
The finished film was met with an overwhelmingly positive response — and the partnership didn't end at the final edit. Puffin House has since produced further video content for EC Charging, with many more projects building on that first collaboration.

Sustainable Ireland
Sustainable Ireland tells the stories of the companies building a greener future for Ireland — authentically, and on film.
